Question by poopoocacafaceman: Why do they play the star spangled banners before every baseball game? They make it out to be some patriotic.
event, and then they play God Bless America in the 7th inning. What a joke. It’s a baseball game, which is all about nachos and cheese, taking your cell phone and waving to the camera like an idiot, pretzels and beer, and cursing at the players, and getting really drunk and ordering 12 beers at last call in the bottom of the 7th and hoping for extra innings and not even knowing who won.
I actually took a college course on the subject of baseball. It’s a game, not some political festival where we all put out our right hand to the sky and say Hail Hitler, because that’s what it feels like to me. Just play ball and stop with the patriotic gimmicks. If you want goosebumps because you are an American, visit DC or Gettysburg.
For all of you sentimental baseball freaks, check out this video:

Because baseball is an American game. Created by an American. While we don’t dominate the game worldwide like we did at one time (and still should in my opinion). It is still played in everytown in the US on a daily basis.
Besides with your opinion of what a baseball game is all about, perhaps they should play O’Canada or God Save the Queen?
And for the guy below me….mindless sheep? Yeah thats the reason. I got a ticket for you, to anywhere in the world you’d rather be than the US.
Answer by Ronin
That all stated during WWII. They used to only do it at important games. Then they started at aevery game during the war. Now we can never let it go b/c americans are mindless sheep.

It is patriotic to play the national anthem for our country. I don’t mind it at all. Maybe you should move to a different country where they don’t play their national anthem at ball games.

Question by Derek B: Kindle DX Screen Protector?
So, my parents just got me a Kindle DX for Christmas, and I know I’m going to love it. They also got me the $ 50 leather case that amazon makes. My question is: Does it need a screen protector? I can’t seem to find an official one from amazon, I found one at http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/amazon-kindle-dx-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php, but I seriously doubt I need that much protection (scratch), I was thinking simply something to prevent fingerprints. Or is the screen already easy to clean, scratch resistant, etc

I’ve the Kindle 2 and I do protect it with screen protector. The Kindle is a pricey device so I definitely suggest you to protect it well. You can consider this screen protector for the Kindle DX, it has good review:

I personally don’t use a screen protector. Haven’t had any problems for nine months. I clean it with the cloth like the one I use to clean my camera lens.

I recommend this screen protector:
